Barolo Riserva D.O.C.G.
Grapes Variety: Nebbiolo grapes from the Langhe Region collected at perfect maturation. Aged in small oak barrels for four year and for one year in bottle in order to earn the “Riserva” title. It is cultivated at an altitude between 350 and 500 meter above the sea level, and the terroir is calcareous and argillaceous.
Description: The colour is brilliant garnet, it can assume orange reflexes, especially perceptible in the external ring of the glass.
The perfume is intense, characterized, in young wine, by flowery scent of rose and violet that with ageing turn into fruity fragrances. The bouquet is completed by spicy essences, pepper, cinnamon and vanilla.
Our Barolo Riserva is dry, full, harmonious and ample on the palate. Its structure is strong and complex, the taste of red berries, blackberry, turning into liquorice emerge clearly.
The light harshness of tannins is more present in young wines but it gets softer with ageing.
Alcoholic content: the 2008 harvest has a 14,5% alcoholic content giving a vigorous and powerful sensation to the wine.
Best Paired: Heavy pasta dishes, rich risottos, red meat and aged cheeses
Serving Temperature: Open one hour before serving at 16 - 18 °C.
